Sharing a 60-acre campus with the district’s newest elementary school, this new junior high facility is sited on a 30-acre landscape that encompasses a large, sloping outdoor green space. North Central Junior High is designed according to contemporary guidelines for high performance schools, which includes the optimization of natural light, the provision of superior indoor air quality, an architectural composition that reduces building maintenance and operational costs, and the use of durable materials that minimize environmental impact. This building includes a geothermal heat pump system, low-e glazing, and recycled-content products. Sustainable design techniques ensure this building can maintain low operating costs and is environmentally responsible.
