UNIVERSITY OF IOWA, SCHOOL OF MUSIC
IOWA CITY, IOWA
The new 267,000 sf School of Music will include practice rooms, classrooms, offices, a 700-seat concert hall, and a 200-seat recital hall. A glass-wrapped student commons and rehearsal lobby are located near the building’s entrance at a busy urban intersection. These glass-wrapped spaces will showcase to passers-by the creativity and energy within. The innovative exterior is clad in a series of glazed terra cotta panels. The project will be complete in the fall 2016. (Design Architect: LMN Architects; Associate Architect: Neumann Monson Architects)
HARRISON STREET PARKING FACILITY
IOWA CITY, IOWA
The 610-car parking structure is one of three projects, including townhomes and an office building, on a block of land being redeveloped south of Iowa City’s downtown core. The parking structure will be wrapped on the east and south sides by townhomes and will connect to a new office building to the west with a skywalk. A piece of public art, designed by a local artist, will be installed outside the parking facility..
SABIN TOWNHOMES
IOWA CITY, IOWA
These townhomes are part of a dynamic new development located two blocks south of the heart of downtown Iowa City.  The complete development will include a multistory office building and a 560-stall parking ramp.  A combination of two and three bedroom workforce units will be available, ranging in size from 1,100 sf ground level units to 1,300 sf upper level units.  Anticipated completion is the fall of 2016.
FORT DES MOINES RENOVATION
DES MOINES, IOWA
This three phase renovation will transform a historic army campus into multi-family housing units. Former barracks buildings will be transformed into two-story, two bedroom living units, while the stable buildings will be converted into one bedroom units. Sustainable design features include a photovoltaic array and on-site stormwater management.  It is anticipated that historic tax credits will aid in the renovation of these buildings.
UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SOCIETY OF IOWA CITY
CORALVILLE, IOWA
This new 18,600 sf church embraces its surrounding environment with expansive views toward nature and a focus on minimizing its impact on the land it will be built. The congregation participated in a collection of workshops to arrive at a truly unique final design that includes many sustainable features such as solar panels, vegetated parking, and abundant natural day-lighting.
WILKINS BUILDING
DES MOINES, IOWA
The historic landmark Younkers building in downtown Des Moines caught fire in March of 2014, causing the eastern portion of the structure to collapse. The remaining western structure, known as the Wilkins Building, was severely damaged but salvageable. The renovation will include full restoration of the Younkers Tea Room, 60 living units, underground parking, and 11,500 sf of first floor retail.
EAST 2ND STREET PARKING
DES MOINES, IOWA
The East 2nd Street Parking facility is the first phase of a block-wide redevelopment located across from Des Moines City Hall in the burgeoning East Village neighborhood. The six level,  540-car parking structure, includes fully glazed east and west facades for visible, secure circulation and protection from the elements. Solar panels on roof level will enable the structure to achieve net zero energy. Plans for the second phase of the project include flanking the parking structure on the north and south sides with mixed-use buildings.

219 EAST GRAND AVE
DES MOINES, IOWA
This 6-story mixed-use building is part of the first phase of a larger project encompassing a block and a half of property in the East Village neighborhood of Des Moines. The project consists of approximately 17,000 sf of street level retail space and 98 residential apartment units on levels 2-6. Amenities for residents include an upper level outdoor terrace, a courtyard/community garden behind the building, and dedicated parking spaces in an adjacent ramp. Street level outdoor patio seating for commercial restaurant tenants will be available to further activate the neighborhood. The building is estimated to be complete in June of 2017.
