DES MOINES MUNICIPAL SERVICES CENTER
DES MOINES, IOWA
Located on a brownfield site, this project will consolidate all Public Works departments. Phase I, 105,000 sf, combines office, vehicular, and maintenance functions for over ten departments. Phase II will be nearly three times larger and, when complete, will accommodate all Public Works departments on a 30-acre site. In addition to the efficiencies of consolidation, the project also provides high quality work environment. IOWA CITY ANIMAL CARE & ADOPTION CENTER
IOWA CITY, IOWA
The new 9,000 sf building is organized into three distinct modules – public, feline, and canine – with a service element that bisects each module to create a central spine. The facility, is designed for easy future expansion.
CEDAR RAPIDS CITY SERVICES CENTER
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA
Fourteen departments were consolidated into this new 360,000 sf facility. The project includes office space for 400 employees and combined maintenance and storage facilities for over 500 municipal service vehicles. The project is pursuing LEED Silver.
DAVENPORT POLICE FACILITY
DAVENPORT, IOWA
This 162,000 sf facility is Iowa’s first LEED municipal building. It was designed and built in two phases on the existing site and houses all departmental functions. Well planned security measures were integrated, while carefully maintaining an open and welcoming feel to the building. Sustainable features include advanced daylighting strategies, green roofs, and a geothermal system.
DAVENPORT SKYBRIDGE
DAVENPORT, IOWA
Designed as part of the City’s “River Renaissance”, the skybridge is a unique destination along the Mississippi River. The glass and steel pedestrian bridge spans 575 feet and its columns are 99 feet high.
NORTH RIDGE PARK PAVILION
CORALVILLE, IOWA
This 3,000 sf structure accommodates the City’s recreation programs and is available for private rental. In addition to many sustainable features, it incorporates Iowa’s first contemporary green roof and serves as a model of sustainable design for this progressive community.
